Reggae CD Review - Strictly The Best 33

Strictly The Best 33

Album: Strictly The Best 33
Artist: Various
Label: VP
Reviewer:
LeanneClifford
Rating: 4/5

This album contains 15 tracks of Strictly the Best and current dancehall. So its time to tuck in ya belly and begin rubber dubbin !!

First of all ive got to mention and Give Respect to Wayne Marshall and the supreme track "The Right Herb". I was pleasantly surprised to hear the night nurse riddim accompanying Marshalls lyrics.

Respect!!

Then there's Left Side & Esco - "Tuck in u Belly", a huge tune right now and the riddims used on the album again by Buju Banton on the track "Me Too Bad".
I cant get enough of Buju and his material, such a distinguished, truly talented man who i've worshipped for over 10 years and rightly so deserves Copious ammounts of love in this review.

He appears again on this album along side Anthony Cruz on the Track "Too Bloody", Sweet, Sweet tune which everybody should have in there collection.

I'm gonna stop there and leave the rest of the album as a surprise...

Over all, the album is consistant, with some tough tunes and well respected artists. Enjoy !!
BigUpRadio.com presents the weekly reggae dancehall show "BOOM SHOTS." DJ BOOM is back in the driver seat with another hot show. I'm feelin a totally new vibe from Cutty on this album in comparison to his earlier works.

Fresh, Unique, Raw to the core dancehall that sent shivers down my spine.

Deep tracks like Hard For It in which he points out the downfalls of Cocaine..
Dirty Mind in which he looks at people who instigate war n crime, And 20" (20 inch) Mega Mix Which
is a HUGE tuneeee.

Also Mellow Riddims a come to, such as:

Take Me Away

Guilty

Better Day

Strange Feeling

Wise Up

There's a lil something for everyone on this album with 19 tracks to choose from, and i know theres
Cutty Ranks fans by the thousands that have been waiting for this time to come.

Shaggy Shoots Video 4 "BroadWay"

Sean Paul - The Trinity
Shaggy recently shot the video for his soon-to-be-released single “Broadway”. This song, from his new album Clothes Drop, pays homage to one of Dancehall’s original rude bwoys, Barrington Levy. The video, shot by director Jason Williams, took place in Manhattan’s Negril Village Restaurant and featured cameos from Reggae’s finest.

Look good in the crowd and you’ll see everyone from Camille McDonald of “America’s Next Top Model” fame to Irie Jam’s Bobby Clarke and “Spread Love” Bobby to Hot 97’s Bobby Konders and Jabba. Big Yard artist, Ky-Enie, was in full effect, soaking up the sunshine from some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful models and dancers. The hype was definitely on in the West Village with video cameras from MTV’s new Caribbean station Tempo and LinkUp Media’s Plush TV catching the spontaneous action of dancers like Ding Dong, Spike Dancers, and the Active Crew.

This collaboration allows Shaggy to come full circle in his music. In the early 90’s, Barrington Levy was a headliner on Shaggy’s very first stage show. The two of them working together now is “natural”, says Shaggy. While the taping lasted well into the next morning, an exhausted Jay Will promised that all the hard work will be “well worth it”. The Clothes Drop album debuted three weeks ago at the #2 spot on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart, and the first single “Wild 2Nite” is topping the charts in Europe. The video is expected to hit a cable station near you in mid-November.
