Bob Marley & The Wailers new album "B Is For Bob"

BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS - B is for Bob - is a new Bob Marley project, but with a BIG hip factor for all Marley fans including kids! Bob's son Ziggy took a few contemporary spins with classic tracks here and ALL Marley believers should investigate - cross-format appeal...!

B is for Bob, a collection of Bob Marley's most beloved songs re-imagined for fans of all ages, will be released June 23 by UMe/Island/Tuff Gong. The international musical legend's eldest son, four-time Grammy winner Ziggy Marley, executive produced the album, which bridges the gap between the timeless Bob Marley and a new generation of kids.

Bob Marley's music is known around the world for its powerful political and spiritual message that touches people of all ages. Ziggy has transformed some of his father's songs for B is for Bob. Eight tracks-"Three Little Birds," "Redemption Song," "Bend Down Low," "Jamming," "Small Axe," "Satisfy My Soul," "Stir It Up" and "High Tide or Low Tide"-remove certain instruments while adding other sounds creates a feeling of hearing these songs for the first time. Meanwhile, four of Bob Marley's other masterpieces are left untouched: "Could You Be Loved," "One Love/People Get Ready," "Lively Up Yourself" and "Wake Up and Live-Pt. 1."

"Me is a common sense man," Bob Marley once said. "That mean when me explain things me explain it in a very simple way, that mean if I explain it to a baby the baby will understand too, you know." Ziggy continues, "My father's music spans generations and with B is for Bob we give the youngest their very own Bob Marley record."

Released in time for summer, the album features fun extras for kids and parents: the CD unlocks bonus online digital content including coloring book pages and a sing-a-long music video. Each CD also includes a free one-year subscription to Parents magazine. B is for Bob comes in a recyclable and biodegradable Eco-Pak, making the album kid-, parent- and Earth-friendly.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Island Records, which is celebrating the label's rich history of music from the luminaries Bob Marley, U2, Traffic, The Cranberries, Cat Stevens, Melissa Etheridge, PJ Harvey, Fall Out Boy more. The Island 50th campaign will feature CD reissues, digital compilations, movie festivals and more.

Fashozy international recording artiste, Da'Ville, is confirmed to perform on this year's International Night 2 at Reggae Sumfest on Saturday, July 25 at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay venue.

It will be the second time that the singer will be performing at the gigantic summer entertainment event. He performed on the event in 2007 where he gave a superb performance, which resulted in him being booked for several local and overseas shows.

The singer, whose 'Missing You Right Now' went to #1 on most local and overseas charts, is still one of the most heavily requested and played songs on the airwaves and in the dancehalls locally and internationally.

Another single, 'Never Gonna Cry', is also popping up on media charts, playlists, Internet radio stations and blog sites around the world and is fast heading for the top. It has just entered Richie B's Top 20 charts. The song is touted to be the next big hit song for the singer. A video for the song in also being edited and will be released soon.

Da'Ville is putting the final touches to a brand new album expected to be out soon. Studio engineers and persons who were privy to hear some of the tracks all say that the album is definitely going to be a “must have”.

Since the A.R.P. singer went solo, his career continues to soar to higher heights. He has recorded a number of chart topping hit songs such as 'Always On My Mind', 'Yesterday', 'Can't Get Over You', 'This Time I Promise', 'Storm' 'Missing You' and 'In Heaven'.

Reggae music legend Michael Rose guest stars on this weeks Reality Time

Reggae music legend Michael Rose guest stars on this weeks Reality Time on Bigupradio.com. Hosted by the furious DJ Kurious and might MC Taiyefoon, Reality Time brings you the latest reggae news, culture and exclusive interviews each Sunday on Bigupradio's 24/7 dancehall station. Don't miss this special interview and feature with reggae star Michael Rose. Michael Rose is currently mashing up the dancehall's with his amazing new tune "Mr. Collie." With a magical voice you've been hearing for years Michael Rose is a reggae favorite. Don't miss this show! ONE LOVE

About Michael Rose:

For over 25 years, Michael Rose has been recording and performing his brand of militant, hardcore Jamaican music to the delight of reggae fans around the world. As a solo artist, with Black Uhuru, and back as a solo artist, the "Ruff" Rose has achieved great success throughout his career, even as different Jamaican musical styles have phased in and out of popularity.

Perhaps the highest profile recognition came in 1984, when Michael Rose and the other Black Uhuru members (Duckie Simpson, Puma Jones, Sly Dunbar, and Robbie Shakespeare) won reggae's first Grammy award for the album, Anthem. But the story doesn't begin with Black Uhuru. In 1976, Michael Rose was already a seasoned performer, having honed his skills by performing on Jamaica's hotel circuit. When an early incarnation of Black Uhuru (Ducky Simpson and Errol Nelson) approached Michael to join the group, he already had several solo singles to his credit. These include the original "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" and "Clap the Barber," both recorded for producer Niney The Observer, and "Running Around" for Winston Campbell.
